Abstract

Studies of museology, heritage, and digital archeology are growing fields that present new ideas and forms of protection of cultural heritage, as well as new devices for the education and dissemination of it. The Mirror Studies Project, presented here, is an academic initiative and an easily accessible web application (Linked Open Data, Open access, Charter on the Preservation of Digital Heritage) where information regarding mirrors is collected and made available to researchers, students, and the general public. Here, information is collected from archaeological sites, museum collections, researchers, historical sources, and mirror bibliography. As a work in progress, we present the case of the Mesoamerican perspective as a potential example of this academic network.
