Estudio bioarqueológico del Sepulcro Megalítico de Santa Rita (Algarve, Portugal)

El presente trabajo presenta nuevas contribuciones a la comprensión de los aspectos biológicos y culturales de la población que erigió y utilizó la Tumba Megalítica de Santa Rita, situada en el municipio de Vila Real de Santo António, Portugal. Los huesos estudiados proceden de la cámara funeraria, que fue utilizada como espacio funerario secundario y colectivo durante el Calcolítico, entre finales del IV milenio a.n.e. (antes de nuestra era) y el segundo cuarto del III milenio a.n.e., correspondiente al primer ciclo de ocupación del monumento. Se analizó el proceso tafonómico de modificación de los restos osteológicos humanos, las características demográficas, morfológicas y paleopatológicas de la población inhumada, así como el ritual practicado en el osario.
