Teoria arqueológica em descompasso no Brasil
O caso da Arqueologia Darwiniana

Este artigo discute o surgimento e a expansão da chamada arqueologia darwiniana, a partir da década de 1970, e seu impacto atual sobre o pensamento arqueológico. Alguns dos seus princípios e conceitos chave são apresentados, assim como um breve histórico da paulatina incorporação da teoria selecionista à investigação do passado da humanidade e das críticas que lhe foram dirigidas. É constatado e analisado o distanciamento da arqueologia brasileira dessa perspectiva, o que a deixa em descompasso no campo teórico.
