This article reflects on examples of archaeological landscapes of wars and other conflicts, in their intersection with the field of “conflict archaeology.” By combining important research and publications on the topic with experience reports, this paper constitutes an introductory debate to the specificities and potentialities of this promising field, whose archaeological science adds to the studies in other areas, bringing information about the conflicts of the past: from prehistory to the present day.
