Transformados pelo fogo
Os indivíduos egípcios mumificados do Museu Nacional

O presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar os danos causados pelo incêndio do Museu Nacional nos remanescentes humanos dos quatro indivíduos adultos mumificados da coleção egípcia, oriundos do Terceiro Período Intermediário e do período Romano. Para isso, foram identificados os elementos ósseos recuperados e analisadas as transformações induzidas por calor, como fraturas, deformações morfológicas e coloração óssea. Os resultados indicaram que o incêndio afetou cada indivíduo mumificado de forma única, o que os colocou em diferentes estados de preservação. Tais resultados contribuem para o entendimento das transformações que o calor induz em ossos de indivíduos mumificados, da dinâmica do incêndio da sala de exposição egípcia do Museu Nacional e para a preservação desse patrimônio histórico-cultural.
